By Sunday morning, you couldn't go into the mall or onto Hollywood near the Kodak Theater. Many of the streets around the area were closed to traffic. So we couldn't get any closer to the Kodak Theater than the corner of Hollywood and Highland (about a half block away).
We walked all over Hollywood that morning, making it almost as far as Hollywood and Vine. We briefly stopped in a large church having a Spanish mass (that was pretty interesting) then wandered around the Hollywood Farmer's Market.
Hollywood is such a mixed bag. There were wonderful treats, like the farmer's market or the mural on the front of Hollywood High School. Some of the redeveloped area, especially the Hollywood and Highland Mall beside the new Kodak Theater, was impressive. But so much of Hollywood is either rundown and drug-addled, or had felt overly plastic.
