You normally don't think of a subway stop as a "destination." A subway station is just a portal to go somewhere that you do want to go. But some of the stations have wondeful mosaic work, particularly the Natural History Museum stop (81st St.). If you like mosaics, stop by the subway stop - this one was particularly nice.
