Archive Site: Roland's Seafood Grill/Roland's Iron Landing
Roland's is in the Strip District at 1904 Penn Ave. It has 15 or so beers on tap, typically including Guinness, a British ale, Sierra Nevada, and so forth. They also have a number of bottled beers.
Rolands also has a nice upstairs area with a large outside deck (which they call Roland's Iron Landing) and several pool tables. They have close to 500 varieties of beer. It would take me too long to list all of them (though maybe some day I will), but here are some of the varieties you can find at Rolands that I haven't seen (or at least haven't seen very often) at other places in the city:
- Smutty Nose Pale Ale and Brown Dog (from New Hampshire)
- Oldenberg Holy Grail Ale and Purple Passion (from Oldenberg, KY)
- Blue Hen
- Snake River
- Star Alt, Nutbrown, and Russian Stout
They also have quite a few imports from places like Singapore, Slovakia, Turkey, Nigeria, and a few other countries that you don't often see even in the good beer bars.
The menu includes a number of sea food specialties. They also have a bar tender who is said to be one of the friendliest in the city.
